I have been into fitness and sports my entire life. Having played baseball the majority of my life as well as being an avid gym-goer /fitness enthusiast, I always felt I was on top of my game in knowing how to stay in shape physically, mentally, and emotionally. It wasn’t until I met my life-long friend who became my trainer for 3 years that I started to really learn the true mechanics and what ‘s really involved when it comes to fitness. One of my brothers and I trained with him for that period of time. During my tenure as his “disciple” I really learned the correct approach to getting and staying in shape. He not only trained us as individuals but he focused on our specific sport. He really used teamwork as his basis with us – working off of each other and applying each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
John is the epitome of the old adage “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it”. Although he pushes you past your limits you need to implement all that he gives you and put it to work for you. Once we made the move from Tampa to South Florida I had to really maintain my focus and use all that John taught me for years. The only difference now is I didn’t have that extra push and motivation he gives you.
I currently train regularly using every one of JOLT’s techniques. I have taken all the knowledge and motivation he has given me and put it to work for me. I pick his brain on a regular basis, get updated information from him, and keep him updated on my progress. In essence, he’s still my trainer. I have lost approximately 15 lbs., have gotten a leaner physique, and taken my body fat percentage to the 10% level. Not bad for a thirty-something spring chicken.
I think the most important aspect of having John as my trainer is that I have been able to help family members and friends that seemed “lost” in the gym. Being fit is much more than going to the gym a few times a week. It comes down to the correct mind frame, motivation, determination, willpower, and altering your way of life for the better; I have been able to use all the tools for myself as well as instill them in those around me.
Thank you John for training me and educating me. You truly are a consummate professional and an outstanding friend.
